One Fair Place

One Fair Place, a cottage built in the local honey-coloured Hamstone, is situated in Fairplace, a particularly picturesque area of the village of Chiselborough. The name of the cottage is derived from the Chiselborough Fair, one of the old Somerset Fairs. The Fair used to be held on the village common near the cottage, which provides breathtaking views of the village and surrounding area.

This cottage is 18th century in origin but has been carefully modernised to make it very light and airy, and has a sunny southwesterly aspect. It is comfortably furnished and well equipped, making it an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside.

The bright, sunny living room has a log burning stove, digital Sky television, video and DVD player and both sitting and dining areas. Its windows overlook both the pretty cottage garden at the back, and the countryside at the front of the cottage.

The country kitchen also looks over the garden, and is extremely well equipped with an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine.

Both bedrooms upstairs are attractively furnished, have fitted carpets and enjoy lovely views. The spacious main bedroom has a four poster double bed while the second bedroom has two single beds, all with duvets.

There is a modern bathroom upstairs, with an electric shower over the bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.

The cottage is fitted with night storage heaters so that winter visitors can be sure of a warm stay whatever the weather.

The cottage garden has a lawn, flower beds and sitting areas, with a gate leading up to the village common, with many enjoyable walks from here over the fields, or by small, quiet roads, to neighbouring villages.

There is a private parking space for one car on the gravelled area in front of the cottage.

About four hundred yards down towards the church is the village bus stop with services to other nearby villages and Yeovil.
