The Lord Nelson,
in Norton-sub-Hamdon, ten minutes drive from Far End Cottage, and five minutes drive or 40 minutes walk from One Fair Place has entertainment and good food.
The Royal Oak pub in
Over Stratton, is just ten minutes drive from Chiselborough and a lovely pub for an evening meal as well as a lunch time snack.
The Masons Arms
at Odcombe is five minutes drive from Far End Cottage
and has a very good snack menu for lunch and excellent food in the evening.
The Phelips Arms pub
in Montacute is the nearest to Far End Cottage, and only five minutes walk. It has a peaceful garden with great snacks at lunch time
and an option of a restaurant style of service in the evening.
The Kings Arms Inn, also in
Montacute, ten minutes walk from Far End Cottage, has a very good restaurant.
The Fleur De Lis in
Stoke-sub-Hamdon, ten minutes drive from One Fair Place and five minutes by car from Far End Cottage, has good food and entertainment.
The Prince of Wales
pub has an interesting setting, as it was built in a Roman quarry on the top of Ham Hill just to the south of Stoke-sub-Hamdon, seven minutes drive from both Chiselborough and Montacute.
